Jiujiang, the South China Sea, promotes the upgrading of the traditional can-making industry

On May 25, 2008, the canning workshop of the Xinhai Yinpan can manufacturing company in the South China Sea was put into operation. The company's introduction of internationally advanced production lines will enhance the canning industry's technological level. With the promotion of the government, the metal can making industry, as a traditional industry in Jiujiang, has been rolled out.

The investment in fixed assets of the newly-manufactured canning workshop of Nanhai Saibang Printing & Steel Can Making Co., Ltd. is 80 million yuan. The new production line can produce 300 aerosol cans in one minute, and the annual production capacity is 200 million. According to the person in charge of the company, due to the large increase in demand for aerosol cans in the past few years, the company’s production facilities in Zengcheng have been relatively backward. Therefore, the can manufacturing plant was invested and built in Nanhai. "Although Jiujiang currently has two production lines of 40 to 50 people and Zengcheng has 6 production lines of more than 400 people, the production capacity of Nanhai is expected to be double that of Zengcheng," he said.

As early as the 1980s, Jiujiang Iron and Steel canning products have led the country in terms of both quality and output, and its tin cans are known as “seamless”. At present, Jiujiang's cans account for 70% of the province's production and sales. After the introduction of well-known enterprises such as Guangzhou Saibang, the grade of the printing and canning industry in Jiujiang has been continuously improved. Not only is the iron and steel thin and wide, it makes up for technical gaps, and new equipment can produce high-precision aerosol cans.

This year, 18 enterprises in Jiujiang Town have been incorporated into the “Eagle Project” of private enterprises in the South China Sea. Jiujiang Town plans to support 32 more enterprises. Each team member and every group unit is linked to relevant companies to solve practical problems from point to point, in terms of financing and talent introduction. After more than 20 years of development, the "King Kingdom" has been continuously updated and an industrial chain that integrates various production processes has been formed. Currently, the Jiujiang metal sheet market is also heating up. According to reports, Baosteel, Shougang, China Shipping Container Lines, and Guangdong Materials Group have completed their visits to Jiujiang and entered a substantive cooperation negotiation stage.
