CO isothermal transformation technology advances into the field of coal gas

The CO isothermal conversion technology independently developed by Hunan Anzhen High-tech Co., Ltd. has been successfully launched in the methanol-to-synthesis ammonia plant of Shanxi Yangmei Fengxi Fertilizer Linyi Branch. The device has been running stably for more than ten days. The test results meet the design requirements. This technology has successfully realized industrial application in the field of high-concentration CO conversion of coal-based syngas.

It is understood that the traditional CO conversion technology is a multi-stage adiabatic reaction technology, which is difficult to apply to high-concentration CO gas conversion. If the CO concentration is above 65%, the shift reaction will be very intense and the reaction temperature will be difficult to control. In addition, the traditional technology usually needs to use 4~5 conversion furnaces, and the complicated temperature-controlled heat exchange equipment is installed in the middle. The reaction process is long, the system resistance is as high as 0.4~0.6 MPa, and the operation difficulty is also large.

Liu Yalong, deputy general manager of Yangxi Fengxi Linyi Branch, told reporters that Hunan Anzhen CO isothermal conversion technology has significant advantages compared with traditional technologies: First, the CO conversion rate is over 98%, which improves the utilization rate of raw material gas and reduces The production cost; the second is to use the principle of isothermal transformation of water phase conversion heat, remove heat while reacting, the reaction temperature of the bed is low, stable and the temperature difference is small, prolonging the service life of the catalyst; third, the running resistance of the reaction bed is small It is only 22~25 kPa, and the catalyst utilization rate is high. Fourthly, the conversion furnace adopts a suspended water tube reactor to overcome the influence of thermal expansion and contraction on the operation safety and stability of the equipment.

According to Hunan Anzhen technical personnel, at the end of last year, the technology was successful in the comprehensive utilization of high concentration CO tail gas in Xinjiang Tianye calcium carbide furnace. There is no precedent in the field of high-concentration CO conversion of coal-based syngas. In particular, only one isothermal shift furnace can reduce CO to 0.2% to 0.4%, which is a new breakthrough.

With the advancement of coal gasification technology, the CO content in syngas has increased to about 70%, and the market for high-concentration CO conversion has broad prospects. Hunan Anzhen began research and development of high-concentration CO isothermal conversion technology in 2007, and obtained national invention patents in 2009.
